3D Modelling & 2D Draughting by Erasmian Engineering Projects.

3D MODELLING & 2D DRAUGHTING

Erasmian provides 3D modelling and 2D draughting services for process plant design, industrial engineering and mining engineering projects.

We offer exceptional expertise in mechanical, structural, piping and platework layout and design to clients in Africa, Middle East and Europe, including:

  • Conceptual drawing work using 2D packages like AutoCAD. This can be a concept for a product, or a process plant being planned. We cater for both greenfield and brownfields projects.
  • Conceptual 3D modelling to determine volumetric requirements, analysis for a feasibility study. This is generally done showing simplified models with low levels of detail.
  • Conversion of 2D electronic or paper drawings to 3D models for use in libraries, uploading to PLM system or use within a BIM (Building Information Modelling) system.
  • 3D modelling using P&ID’s (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams), Engineering Calculations or Data Sheets, and Vendor information.
  • Creation of 2D drawings from 3D models for further design, information, costing, fabrication detailing or construction purposes. This is produced to specific standards as required by the relevant industry. Models can be set up for use in DEM or FEA analysis by third party entities.
  • Configuration of 3D models for use within BIM library, ensuring completion of parametric and meta data information. This is crucial to the successful implementation and operation of any BIM system.

We only showcase SOME of our completed projects here due to confidentiality and space considerations (contact us re work done in your industry):

3D modelling of a Mobile Hopper Concept.

Mobile Hopper

A 25m³ movable hopper concept 3D model for client in the aggregate process plant business. This was developed as part of a complete movable package which included crushers, screens, conveyors, and chutes.

The model was used to compile a costing model for a bankable feasibility study for their end clients in Africa. The project was paused with the Covid 19 restrictions.

The structure and hopper were designed considering ease of transport and on-site erection of the equipment. All sub-assemblies were designed to ensure it can fit into standard container transport systems and can be handled on-site with minimal crane requirements.

This was modelled in Autodesk Inventor using the Frame Generator and Sheetmetal modules.

3D modelling of a Replacement Pump System.

Replacement Pump System

A replacement pump system for a mine in Africa. The assembly had to fit into a specific space requirement, and the piping had to line up with the current pipe system. The design had to incorporate the instrumentation and cabling as much as possible as the fabricator needed to do a trial assembly before shipping.

The equipment was fabricated in a workshop in South Africa, shipped to the client site and installed with minimal on-site adjustment.

It was commissioned and handed over within the project deliverable time requirements and is providing a pumping service now with a 20% increased capacity over the old system.

3D modelling of a Modular Conveyor.

Modular Conveyer

600 Belt width modular conveyor system developed for aggregate market.

Also suited for small scale mining applications where throughput is maximum of 500 tonnes with particle size of less than 100mm. The system can cater for overall lengths from 5m to a maximum of 30m with an incline of 10 degrees (depending on the material).

We offer expert 3D modelling and 2D draughting.

"I have known Kobus Erasmus for many decades and have sat around project tables with him. A more direct, honest, passionate and capable person you cannot ask for when it comes to Draughting, Design, Trouble-shooting Consulting and meticulous record-keeping. He has an unusual ability to see things both in the conceptual, and to get it working efficiently in the field. He'd be an asset to a project of any size!"
